Spring is a delightful time to hit the slopes and take in the magnificence of our beautiful part of the country. Perfect snow, brilliant sunshine and lower crowd levels make it ideal for guests to our area as well as those here to consider a move and join one of our incredible communities.

Temperatures in March are traditionally a little warmer, with highs usually in the mid to upper 40s and lows in the 20s. Our ski lifts are in full operation, and many resorts are offering lower rates or great packages and bundles, as well as fun events to entice visitors to come try us on for size. The US News reports March as one of the best possible times to visit Tahoe.

As for real estate, let me share a few trends that might be of interest to you:

South Lake Tahoe market trends indicate an increase of $10,500 (2%) in median home sales over the past year. The average price per square foot for this same period rose to $319, up from $304.

Tahoe City market trends indicate an increase of $165,000 (33%) in median home sales over the past year. The average price per square foot for this same period rose to $460, up from $430.
